What tools we use? Series 1: Pen

Black Format team is going to share more about us, as we are all artists / designers, tools are important to us, so we will talk about what tools we use for creation on our blog in the future.

Now, we start our Tool Series 1: Pen, let’s see what pen we use for creation.

Camilo:

My favorite tool besides a mechanical pencil and my moleskins, is a Wacom Intous tablet. The main reason I began using it was to relief symptoms of early carpal tunnel. 8 years later I wouldn’t change it for a thing! Now my hand feels like normal.
I use tablet mostly as a mouse replacement. Now I get from point A to point B in zero to no time. Now all I am looking forward to is the soon to be released Wacom Inkling. I can already tell that may be one of my favorite tools.

Bubi:

I love to use the Pilot Pocket Brush Pen – hard, the pen is smooth and you can control the spread of ink stroke on different paper.

Wilmer:

I love my PILOT pens because their colors are very similar to my personal pallete, also, they have double point in each side, one thin and the other is bold. So I can make fine lines and solid surfaces with the same pen.
My moleskine is like my best friend, I carry it everywhere! no matter where I go (traveling, office, hanging out, funerals, etc).
I love these both tools because they’re the initial state of my process, they help me catch any creative idea on the go. Without them, my digital creations and paintings wouldn’t be the same.

Piktorama:
For me it would be notebook & Sketchbook. They are like a couple can’t live without each other. Notebook is for thoughts, ideas, friendly reminder of the things I have to do. Sketchbook is where the ideas come to life. Wish I could travel with both everywhere! je

Muxxi:

One of my favorite tools would be my iPad because it’s easier to carry everywhere and sketch on it, I can hear my favorite music while doing it and stay connected to all my social networks at the same time. It’s really comfortable and with the help of my bamboo stylus pen I can get my ideas quicker and in digital format, ready to be sent to my computer to clean them up.
