With out any further a do, let me introduce the all amazing duo from the Netherlands! Back when I had Whale and Pine Lou Lou and Tummie did an amazing collab that won a ton of sales! Glad they had time off their busy schedule to answer our questions:

Where are you from:
Tilburg, The Netherlands

Before starting a project:
Doodle a bit to see where we want to go with it, think of some nice colours to use.

First job as an illustrator:
The first, officially paid job were three small editorial illustrations about computers and privacy for De Digitale Consument Magazine. We were still in artschool back then.

Craziest thing you’ve done during a project:
It’s not very crazy but often, when we have to draw a group of people or a busy street or a page with much going on we draw ourselves in there. Just subtle, quite anonymous in the crowd and no client knows. It’s a sort of silly little secret for ourselves. We bet that many illustrators do this too. :)

Tunes while working:
That’s ranging quite a bit. We’re into laid back electronics, experimental noise scapes, enjoy singer songwriters but are also big fans of the heaviest of deathmetal bands. Alt folk will often do but also does a lot of annoying bleepy chiptunes.
Usually it’s a mix of all this, often got all our tracks on random throughout the day.

Favorite place on earth:
Our new house.

Last object you bought:
Probably some screws or hinges since we’re busy renovating our house.

If you illustrate a book, what would the title be:
-

Technology or handmade:
We prefer to work with the computer for our illustration work but going out to paint a mural, getting our hands covered in paint can be very satisfying every now and then.

Favorite toy as a kid:
MOTU, M.A.S.K and Lego for Loulou
Playmobil, Barbie and Lego for Tummie

Coffee or Tea:
The strongest of coffee for Tummie and Loulou will take a herbal tea please.

Favorite Blogs:
This Isn’t Happiness

Candyman:
Who’s that?

Heroes:
Chris Ware

Words of advice:
Do what you love to do.
