A few time ago I discovered the awesome work of Jack Hudson, I really enjoyed every image I saw on his blog, the exaggerated proportions of his characters an the interesting palette of colors make the perfect combination to make his fantastic creations come alive. Let’s know more about Jack.

Where are you from: I’m originally from a small town in Birmingham in the UK, but I’m now living in Bristol and what a lovely city it is!

Before starting a project: I drink some coffee, ponder for a while, search the web for inspiration and then get onto sketching out thumbnails.

First job as an illustrator: Hmmm not entirely sure about this one. I used to do a lot of posters for club nights so I suppose they were my first small jobs. Then a while after that I starting doing some work for various bands; one of which being Sky Larkin who were good friends of mine.

Craziest thing you’ve done during a project: Nothing too crazy I don’t think, although I did made a short film for my final major project a few years back which involved my face being completely covered in white paint and plastered in sudocrem to the point where my eyes turned bloodshot and my hair was left grey for days after…. I was known as Grandad Hudson to all!

Tunes while working: So many… LCD Soundsystem to get work done fast, The album Leaf for all nighters, The Bronx for early mornings, Lightnin Hopkins for afternoon blues and The Pharcyde when it’s time to party!

Favorite place on earth: Well I’ve just recently just got back from a holiday in Amsterdam, love the place so I suppose that’s what springs to mind at the mo. If not my Ma and Pa’s house for Sunday dinner.

Last object you bought: A glass of wine and a selection of tapas

If you illustrate a book, what would the title be: I’ve have plans to work on a book called ‘Yonder’. It’s a nice sounding work and also pleasant to look at.

Technology or handmade: Both please, but if I had to choose… it would have to be handmade, as it came first.

Favorite toy as a kid: Military Muscle Men and Mighty Max… Awesome!

Coffee or Tea: Coffee in the day, tea at night

Favorite Blogs: The usual dose of daily inspiration comes from: www.itsnicethat.com, www.booooooom.com, www.thefoxisblack.com and the Creative Review blog.

Candyman: A mouthful of bees, no thanks. Nicolas Cage doesn’t enjoy it either: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1GadTfGFvU

Heroes: Michel Gondry, David Hockney, Charley Harper and Bruce Bickford

Words of advice: Look busy or be busy! Motivation is the key to success.
