Last week at Miami’s 2011 Art Basel I had the pleasure to see in front of me, several of Oleg’s real and amazing photographs. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. At first I didn’t know if it they were paintings or a photographs. They were these huge C-Prints of little kids with costume, and very strong and strange look. Immediately I fell in love with Oleg’s work and just had to write about it.

Born in 1983, Oleg Dou is a multi award-winning photo artist based in Moscow. He is inspired by culture of fashion and surrealists. With his photography he’s trying to show people in a not stereotypical way. He’s always been interested in human individuality and self-expression. His works between oposities such as alive and dead, attractive and disturbing, reality and artificiality.

It leaves no doubt that his powerful images have been published many times and won several prizes including The Photographer of the year Fineart in 2008. His main tool, a fantastic Hasselblad.
